In what promises to be a spirited and lively discussion, three highly qualified and forceful observers and practitioners will look at foreign policy options for Canada following the UN Security Council election failure.

They will consider such questions as:
• What has the 3 Ds policy cluster meant and achieved in actual practice over the past several years?
• Is the configuration still a relevant way to organize foreign policy priorities?
• Do we have them in the right balance?
• What are the top 3 foreign policy issues looking to the future?
• Going forward what else should we be factoring into foreign policy making?
• Are our institutions reflective and responsive to shifting alignments in international relations?
• How can we improve our capacity in international relations?

Au cours d’un échange qui s’annonce vif et animé, ces trois observateurs et praticiens hautement qualifiés et percutants examineront les options en matière de politique étrangère suite à l’échec de la candidature du Canada pour un siège au Conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies.  

 La discussion portera sur les questions suivantes :
• Comment ce regroupement des politiques des 3 D a-t-il été appliqué et quel a été son impact dans les dernières années?
• Cette configuration représente-t-elle toujours une façon efficace d’organiser les priorités en matière de politique étrangère?
• Y a-t-il un juste équilibre entre les priorités?
• Quelles sont les trois enjeux majeurs de demain en ce qui a trait à la politique étrangère?
• En regardant l’avenir, que devrions-nous inclure dans notre politique étrangère?
• Nos institutions reflètent-elles et répondent-elles aux alliances mouvantes en ce qui a trait aux relations internationales?
• Comment pouvons-nous améliorer notre capacité en matière de relations internationales?
